KBO Unveils Anticipated Entry-Level E-Bikes - Meet K1&K2 on March 1st

As we join the global shift towards sustainable, convenient, and affordable modes of transportation, we're thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of our KBO K Series: K1&K2 on March 1st. We‘re confident that this will make for a pleasant surprise in the e-bike community – especially for first-time riders. Our innovative e-bikes promise not just an emission-free journey, but also a seamless blend of technology, design, and practicality. In this blog, we will take you through the key features of the new K series, demonstrating how they aim to redefine affordable urban commuting, recreational riding, and the world of clean mobility.

Bonus Promotion

Before we delve into the innovative features of our K1&K2 and how they stack up in the KBO lineup, we must mention that we are running a launch promotion in which you can spend $1 to get a $50 voucher toward a K1 or K2 e-bike. Those who participate in this $1 offer will then be entered into a random drawing where 10 lucky winners will receive a K1 or K2 as a bonus prize. Terms and conditions apply. The e-voucher can be purchased here.

Integrated Batteries are a Crowd Favorite on the E-bike Scene

In e-bike design, the rechargeable battery is a critical element, powering the motor for efficient and safe travel. Regrettably, many folding e-bikes have external batteries, often mounted on the frame. This design, while functional, can pose challenges in specific environments. For example, batteries exposed to extended periods of rain or humidity can sustain damage and potentially cause short circuits, making it less ideal to use these e-bikes in wet conditions. Fortunately, the innovative integrated battery design of our soon-to-be-launched K1 and K2 e-bikes on March 1st offers a solution to this issue.

The integrated batteries on these new e-bikes mean the battery is hidden and protected inside the frame of the bike. This interior placement prevents 95% of potential electrical faults. As with almost all e-bikes, the battery can be removed or charged directly on the bike. The K1&K2's battery life provides riders with about 45 miles of travel depending on the terrain and the rider’s physical profile.

KBO K1&K2: Reinforced Aluminum Frames for Durability and Stability

In a strategic move to fortify the internal components of these electric bikes while remaining light in weight, we've adopted an improved 6061 aluminum alloy frame in these models. The upgraded and thicker frame serves two purposes: safeguarding the internal battery and controller while ensuring the stability of the bike during rides. We have conducted rigorous stability tests involving 150,000 vibrations under a load of 140 kg, to validate the frame's strength.

This emphasis on durability aligns with our commitment to providing users with a reliable electric bike experience. To create a great experience for a rider’s first e-bike, these advancements assist in ensuring a 5-10-year lifespan for the bikes.

Fashionable New Colors Sure to Turn Heads Everywhere

Breaking with tradition, we have adopted a more vibrant and fashionable look for the new bikes. Surveys conducted across different ages, professions, and genders revealed that the new colors are both popular and unique. Both models will come in midnight black, pearl white, and light blue (light blue being a favorite amongst both men and women for good reason). And to stand out even more, two special colors are also being introduced. The special color for K1 is olive green, while K2's special color is pink. Attractive decals have been custom-made for each model.

New Models Provide Portability with Easy-Fold Design

In an effort to enhance rider convenience, we have engineered these new models to weigh a mere 55 lbs., offering a lightweight solution somewhat rare in the e-bike market. The bikes are also foldable. Folding the bike is a straightforward process, requiring just two simple steps and taking no more than 20 seconds. Users can easily unlock the frame's clamp and the stem's clamp to fold the bike, with foldable pedals further reducing its size.

For those mindful of storage space, such as in an apartment or small car, the bike dimensions stand at 67"L x 25"W x 44"~48"H, depending on the handlebar height. When folded, the dimensions shrink to 35"L x 20"W x 28"H, making it an ideal choice for riders seeking a combination of performance and portability.

K1&K2 Add Additional Options to KBO Lineup

Some may be aware that we currently have two folding bikes, the Flip and the Compact, which were compared here. The Compact is still more suitable for off-road riding, while the Flip and K series are better for commuting in a city or town. The Flip has an external battery, whereas the K series' battery is internal and has a larger capacity, allowing it to travel about 10 extra miles on one charge.

The Flip weighs 57 lbs, while the K series' weight is just 55 lbs., a comparable figure that doesn't present any significant differences. Furthermore, the K1 offers a variety of fashionable colors and designs, surpassing the Flip or Compact, which will be a refreshing change for those choosing their first e-bike.

We want to remind that the $1 Voucher for K1/K2 models is on sale now and limited to the first 50 entrants. By spending just $1, you’ll be entered into a drawing where 10 lucky winners will receive a K1 as a bonus!
