Today we're doing our first impressions of the KBO Ranger Cargo electric bike. At about $1,700, the Ranger is a cargo hauler and meant to be a more than capable car replacement in terms of efficiency and performance. In this video, we'll discuss the features and let you know whether the KBO Ranger is worth the price.

At a glance, this rugged commuter looks like a heavy-duty machine, and it certainly is. Its robust frame and wide tires mean that it can carry a payload of up to 181 kilograms, and its punchy motor pumps out enough watts to make the steepest climb a walk in the park.Β

You no longer have to worry about any hills on your trip back from the store, or the challenges of getting the heavy, loaded bike moving from a complete stop.

The KBO Ranger is powered by an 840Wh LG battery and a 750W motor, allowing the rider to go up to 60 miles on a single charge. It also has smaller but broader tires for more stable riding over rugged terrain.

Thanks to the geared hub 750W motor and long-lasting battery, riders may be able to enjoy up to 60 miles on the road without the need for a battery change.Β

This means you can ride to work, stop over and visit friends/relatives, and maybe even drive by for some quick take-out before heading home. The KBO Ranger also qualifies as a Class 3 electric bike since it canΒ achieve speeds beyond 20 mph.

Have you ever tried going to work with a cargo bike and arriving early without stress for once? It now makes sense to use a bike for commuting instead of a car. If the gas prices have not discouraged you from driving a car, then traffic that can be easily avoided will. The KBO Ranger is an electric cargo bike designed to take care of all your traveling requirements. You can go on a joyride with your kids or pets.

The Ranger really looks like the cargo bike I’ve been looking for.Β  It’s smaller like a Tern, but priced much more reasonably.Β  I think KBO chose well with this model.Β  It has its own unique look and styling which I appreciate.Β

Overall, the Breeze is an incredible bargain buy of an electric bike that comes fully featured with everything needed for extended commutes through an urban environment. But the cool thing about the Breeze is it can still handle some light trails as well!

The KBO Breeze is a commuting/cruising oriented ebike, where budget-friendly meets blazing fast! Our team was impressed with the sleek design and high performance of the Breeze, especially for the $1400 price point. Overall the Breeze was a blast to ride and provided a unique riding experience that falls somewhere between performance, and leisure.

With 750W of power and slightly higher than 20 mph speeds, the KBO Breeze has the power and speed to make me feel safe on the road. While I love 28 mph e-bikes, the KBO Breeze still has decently fast commuter speeds that I can live with. The combination of long range and a nicely designed e-bike that can fulfill a true commuter role sits nicely with me. The bike is an attractive option in the commuter electric bicycle space and is fairly priced for what you get.

Overall, the Breeze is a great value e-bike that raises the bar in a few key areas. The range delivered on a single battery is notably more than most other e-bikes at a comparable price and the ability to pick up a second battery is a nice touch. The included lights, rack, and fenders make it easy to use the Breeze for meaningful tasks right out of the box without having to buy any accessories while also providing a solid platform onto which a rear basket, panniers, and more can easily be added.

Overall, the KBO Breeze is a Strong Value & Good Entry Into eBikes

My first impressions of the KBO Breeze is that it is a peppy bike. When beginning at just pedal assist level one, the bike gives plenty of get-up-and-go. In pedal assist level 3 while in gear 7 it’s easy to cruise at 20 mph which makes the Breeze and the Breeze Step-Thru an ideal commuter bike. If you don’t want to arrive to work or your classes hot and sweaty, or late, then this is a good bike to look at.

The KBO Breeze is a commuter E-bike that wants a Cadillac ride to work or school; when I say Cadillac, I am serious; this is like the most comfortable E-bike I've ever ridden with roughly only $1499. If you do any research on E-bike, you will learn real quick that you don't really start getting the good parts and the good performance until you spend over 15 hundred bucks. A few are under that, but they are going to have the components and the build quality that this bike has.

KBO Hurricane is a big name for a very small bike that weighs 36 pounds. Most people wouldn't recognize this as an electric bike they've done a very good job of hiding the 36-volt lithium battery in the down section of the 6061 aluminum frame which gives the bike a clean and sleek appearance. Overall if you're looking to get into road bikes I think this is a good place to start. You can drop some serious money and may not enjoy it with other brands. The Hurricane is an affordable option to see if it's something you want to jump into.

That's for sure now. To compare the KBO Breeze (48V,16AH) and Aventon Level ( 48V,14AH), the Breeze ultimately will have a bigger battery, as we did the throttle-only range test Breeze ride 36 miles compare to 25 miles Aventon did. The overall features are very similar, but the price of KBO Breeze is $200 fewer than Aventon Level.

Taking into account the the ride quality, the ease of assembly, quality level of components, the power level of the electric hub motor and capacity of the battery, I give the KBO Breeze a thumbs up. If you look at the other ebikes in the $1,500 price range, you’ll typically see things like no name tires, lower capacity batteries, less powerful electric motors with a lower maximum speed, etc. KBO did a very good job of putting together an ebike that really gives you a lot for your money in this price category.

I applaud KBO for bringing a respectable package to those on a tight budget. For someone wanting to ride around town quickly and easily, with the ability to add panniers, a basket, or even a child seat, the KBO Breeze is an easy recommendation.

I've been riding the KBO Breeze both in town on the pavement but I've also been riding it here in quartzite Arizona out in the desert on the rock on the gravel roads. We realize it is not a mountain bike nor a fat tire bike, but it still performs really well off-road. All in all, KBO is relatively new to the electric bike market but they have come out with a winner. I'm very pleased with it and so far I'm thoroughly impressed. It's easy to ride for RVers out.

The KBO Ranger blasted past our expectations in our testing period. Despite its mid-level price, it landed at the top of the bike pile in multiple performance metrics. Named appropriately, the range of this model is huge, giving you the confidence to travel farther with the Ranger than other bikes. It also boasts serious power for high top speeds and quick starts, and it has all the key features we want.

The step-through frame has serious advantages for all riders. Riders that load up their rear rack with a lot of cargo can find it difficult to swing their leg over standard bikes. Shorter or heavier riders can mount the bike a bit easier too, as well as anyone with knee or balance issues.
